Or do you constantly criticize your physical appearance – either aloud or in your head whether it’s one particular body part or maybe even the whole damn thing?

Having been where you are, we have put together a workshop to give you the tools you need to put you on a path to inner peace when it comes to food and body image. Using storytelling, sharing, meditation, journaling, brainstorming, deep listening, and self-reflection, we hope to help you stop suffering from these issues and end the obsession.

Do you feel a stirring inside that can only mean one thing: that it's time to make a change? Do you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that this change is right for you yet still find it near-impossible to embrace it and step into it? Whether it's leaving a relationship, following a new career path, or going through another type of transition, we know how difficult and daunting change can be. Having recently navigated career and other life changes ourselves, we have had to work through the fear and the negative self-talk that can hold us captive in dissatisfying jobs, relationships, homes, and even friendships.

"When It's Time to Change" is a workshop that will give you the tools you need to put you on the path to inner peace when it comes to making positive changes in your life. Using storytelling, sharing, meditation, journaling, brainstorming, deep listening, and self-reflection, we hope to help you get unstuck and start on the path toward a happier and more fulfilling future.

Lisa Lampanelli:

With a career spanning more than 30 years, Lisa Lampanelli has been a constant on the comedy scene. With numerous tours, Grammy nominations, and national TV guest appearances and specials under her belt, Lisa made national headlines in 2012 when she lost more than 100 pounds with the help of bariatric surgery. The comedian went on to speak with unflinching honesty about her lifelong food and body-image issues, and has since gone from insulter to inspirer. Her play, STUFFED, enjoyed two off-Broadway runs and its success led Lisa to curate and perform her storytelling show, LISA LAMPANELLI’S LOSIN’ IT!, a humorous and heartfelt show featuring herself and a group of storytellers, actors, and special guests coming clean about their food and body-image struggles.

Thea Martin:

Thea Bourke Martin, JD, E-RYT: A certified yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance and an attorney at Lafferty & Martin LLC, Thea endeavors, in her workshops and classes, to create a healing, supportive environment in which students can listen to their bodies. She calls on students to observe themselves without judgment so that, over time, they can come to love their bodies, quiet their minds, and find happiness. Through her work as a mediator, trainer, and coach, Thea helps people create meaningful change in their lives.

Thea has facilitated workshops and trainings throughout the country for mediation centers, bar associations, professional & non-profit organizations, and yoga centers. Most recently, Thea designed a family mediation program that was adopted by Community Mediation, Inc. and a holistic divorce curriculum for the Women & Family Life Center. She lives in Guilford, Connecticut, with her husband, Brian and son, Josh.
